Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers on care, materials, outdoor durability, indoor upholstery, teak maintenance and warranty guidance for Zaneti furniture.
My table is scratched. What should I do?
Treat scratches quickly to protect the finish. Use Zaneti touch-up tools (touch-up pen or spray) in the correct colour.
- Clean and dry the area first.
- Apply touch-up product in light coats.
- Allow full curing time before use.
If rust appears on steel, apply an anti-rust product first, then repaint. For stainless steel parts, use a liquid or paste polish as soon as marks appear.
For step-by-step guidance, see Use & Maintenance Guide.
What is covered under warranty, and what is not?
Warranty coverage depends on correct use and care. Damage from misuse, impact, incorrect cleaning, or poor storage may not be covered.
Full terms are in the Guarantee Charter.
I want to make a warranty claim. What should I do?
If purchased from a retailer, return the product with proof of purchase. The retailer will assess and manage next steps.
If purchased online, contact us with your order details and photos via Contact.
What materials does Zaneti use?
Is Zaneti furniture treated for outdoor use?
Yes. Outdoor collections include anti-corrosion preparation and a polyester powder coat with UV resistance, applied for consistent coverage and baked for durability.
For coastal or high-salt environments, aluminium is the best choice for long-term performance.
Can I keep Zaneti furniture near the ocean?
Coastal environments increase corrosion risk. Choose aluminium for seaside applications and rinse surfaces regularly with fresh water to remove salt residue.
If you are unsure which collection suits your site, message us via Contact.
How do I clean powder-coated metal furniture?
- Use clean water or mild non-detergent soapy water.
- Rinse and wipe dry to prevent water marks and limescale.
- Avoid abrasive pads, powders, and harsh detergents.
What should I use for stubborn marks on metal surfaces?
For ingrained dirt, use a window cleaner that contains alcohol or a purpose-made multi-surface cleaner. Test in a small area first and wipe dry after cleaning.
Should I cover outdoor furniture with a plastic cover?
Avoid plastic tarps and plastic tablecloths that trap moisture. Trapped moisture plus heat can affect the finish over time.
If covering is needed, use breathable covers and allow airflow underneath.
How should I store furniture when not in use?
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep products protected from knocks, stacking damage, and sharp edges.
For outdoor tables and chairs left outside, avoid leaving flat surfaces where water can pool.
Bird droppings landed on my furniture. Does it matter?
Clean bird droppings as soon as possible. They can stain surfaces and may damage finishes if left for long periods.
Rinse, use mild soapy water, then wipe dry.
Will the silver-grey patina damage teak?
No. The patina is a natural surface change from UV exposure. It is cosmetic and does not reduce strength.
To maintain a golden tone, apply a teak protector designed for outdoor timber.
How do I clean teak furniture?
- Use warm water and mild soap with a soft brush.
- Scrub along the grain and keep the surface wet.
- Avoid cleaning in hot direct sun.
Avoid metal brushes, abrasive pads, and steel wool.
Can I use a pressure washer on teak?
Yes, on a low-pressure setting with care. Keep distance from the timber and avoid aggressive angles that can raise the grain.
Should I oil my teak furniture?
Teak does not need oil for durability. Oiling is optional and can increase the chance of uneven colour or mildew if applied incorrectly.
If you want to hold colour, use teak-specific protectors rather than general timber oils.
How do I restore teak from grey back to golden?
You can restore colour by lightly sanding with fine-grit paper, or by using a teak cleaner designed to remove the surface patina.
Once restored, apply a teak protector to help maintain colour.
How do I clean indoor upholstery and cushions?
- Brush off loose dirt.
- Use a mild soap and water solution.
- Clean with a soft bristle brush or cloth.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue.
- Air dry fully before use.
Keep cushions out of harsh sun when not in use to reduce fading. For more tips, see Use & Maintenance Guide.
Can I use bleach or strong cleaners on upholstery?
Avoid bleach, abrasive products, and strong solvents. They can damage fibres and affect colour.
Use mild soap and water, or a fabric-safe cleaner suited to the upholstery type.
What should I do if I spill wine, coffee, or oil?
- Blot straight away with a clean cloth (do not rub).
- Clean gently with mild soap and water.
- Rinse and air dry.
Prompt cleaning reduces staining across timber, metal and upholstery.
Any tips when unpacking and setting up furniture?
- Avoid cutting too deep with knives or scissors.
- Watch for staples and sharp packing edges.
- Do not place tabletops face-down on hard ground.
- Assemble and place furniture on level surfaces.
Damage caused during unpacking may not be covered. See Use & Maintenance Guide.
How can I recycle my products?
Zaneti furniture is designed using recycled and recyclable materials. Take packaging and unwanted furniture to your local recycling or waste facility.
